Graduation Information

Commencement Ceremonies

 Commencement Ceremony 1: Tuesday, December 8th @ 4:00 pm (Group #1)
Liberal Arts & Applied Sciences
Students participating in this ceremony will be notified later in the semester after the graduation application deadline via SWTX Office 365 college email. Due to the size of the venue graduates will be issued a limited amount of tickets for their guests. The number of tickets will be shared after the application deadline.

***Important: Eligible graduates must complete the graduation application using their SWTX “Self-Service” prior to the deadline advertised on the college Academic Calendar. The opt-in indicator under “Commencement Details” on the graduation application must be toggled to the right and will reflect blue to confirm participation.

Application Deadline - Fall Graduation

Students eligible to graduate must submit the application for graduation using their SWTX Self-Service. The Self-Service application is the only method that will be accepted to apply for graduation (no paper application, email, etc.) All students should visit with their SWTX Success Coach for a review of their degree plan prior to submission.

Graduation Deadlines

December 2026 Graduation - The application deadline is Friday, October 23rd, 2026, by 4:00 pm.

Ceremony Venue

The commencement ceremonies will be held on Tuesday, December 8th at the International Center for Trade in Eagle Pass. The address to the venue is 3295 Bob Rogers, Eagle Pass, TX 78852. The venue is located behind the SWTX Eagle Pass campus.

International Center for Trade Entry and Limited Guest Seating ***PLEASE READ***

Due to limited capacity of the venue, in addition to safety and security, each graduate will receive a limited number of tickets to distribute to family and friends. Graduates should have their gowns on while in line to enter venue and will be directed to their check-in station. The number of tickets per graduate will be shared and provided after the graduation application deadline.

All guests, including graduates, will enter the facility through the main front doors. All guests will go through security checkpoints/metal detector prior to entering and a "clear bag" policy will be enforced.

Commencement Regalia

Cap and gown can be purchased at the college bookstore. Only regalia (stoles, cords, etc.) that have been issued by the college will be permitted at the ceremony. No custom or other regalia items will be permitted.

GPA Recognition Stole

Media and Photos

The college Public Relations staff will be covering the event exclusively during the ceremony and will also broadcast live via Facebook and YouTube (Please visit the SWTX website on the scheduled commencement day/time).

No other individuals or media personnel will be permitted to enter the main room/stage area at any time during or after the ceremony. There will be an opportunity for graduates to take photos at designated areas after your respective ceremony.

Services for Disabilities

Additional but limited handicap parking will be reserved and located in front of the parking lot to the facility. A valid decal must be displayed in the vehicle upon arrival.

Commencement Rehearsal

There will be no rehearsal prior to the ceremony. Please arrive early (1 hour before start time) and appropriately attired in your cap and gown for graduate check-in. We will have staff on hand to assist for lining up.

Diplomas

Diplomas will be mailed out in January 2027, pending that there are no institutional holds.

All Students

Candidates for graduation must clear all obligations (fines, transcripts, checked-out devices, etc.) with the college before receiving their diploma or SWTX official transcripts.

Commencement Ceremony Parking

General parking will be available in the main parking lot to the side of the facility.

Food and Beverages

No food or beverages will be allowed to be brought into the facility.
