Mission Statement

The Office of Professional Development serves as a resource for faculty advancement of student-centered learning at Southwest Texas College by supporting all faculty as they expand their professional practices and innovation, examine their ongoing instructional development, and advance continuous improvement processes to attain excellence in teaching and learning experiences for students.

Since the coronavirus pandemic has drastically changed the way all of us now function, we’re happy to announce that we’ve restructured our 2020 annual conference as a series of online convenings. These events will feature purposefully selected presentations originally planned for our annual onsite conference.

In these uncertain times, it’s more important than ever to retain a sense of engagement and professional learning with colleagues. While showing up physically at a conference, workshop, or other face-to-face meetings might not currently be possible, below are ways to network and engage in professional learning.
