Welcome

Welcome to Southwest Texas Junior College's Dual Credit program, a great opportunity for high school students to get a jump start on earning college credit while still in high school.

Dual Credit programs offer the following benefits:

  • Expands academic options for college-bound high school students
  • Minimizes the duplication of courses taken in high school and college
  • Shortens the time required to complete an undergraduate degree
  • Significantly reduces the cost of higher education

Dual Credit programs through Southwest Texas Junior College provide students the opportunity to earn both college and high school credit while enrolled in high school. Through a formal partnership, SWTJC and participating school districts approve students meeting program requirements to enroll in agreed-upon courses.

Course credit will be awarded through the school district for high school academic requirements and through the college for semester credit hours possibly leading to a post-secondary degree or certificate.

This page is designed to help answer questions about the expectations, requirements, processes and services available to you as a college student through Southwest Texas Junior College's Dual Credit Program. We are delighted that you have chosen to get a head start on your college education by participating in our program.
