Southwest Texas College Hosts December Commencement Ceremony in Eagle Pass

Uvalde, TX, December 11, 2024 - Southwest Texas College (SWTX) is proud to announce its December Commencement Ceremony, celebrating the academic achievements of graduates from the College of Liberal Arts and Applied Sciences. The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 7 p.m. at the International Center for Trade, located at 3295 Bob Rogers Drive in Eagle Pass, Texas, directly behind the SWTX campus.

This milestone event will honor the hard work and dedication of SWTX students as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.

Ceremony Highlights:

Mace Bearer: April Ruhmann, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Applied Sciences, will lead the ceremonial procession.

Welcome Address: Derek Sandoval, Vice President of Administrative Services, will greet attendees and set the tone for the evening.

Introduction of Board and Administration: Derek Sandoval will formally introduce the college’s leadership team.

President’s Address: Dr. Hector E. Gonzales, SWTX President, will deliver a keynote address celebrating the accomplishments of the graduating class and their journey at SWTX.

Presentation of Class: Cruz Mata, Vice President of Student Services, will present the graduating class.

Conferring of Degrees and Diplomas: Rogelio Munoz, SWTX Board of Trustees Member.

Awarding of Diplomas: Dr. Mark Underwood, Vice President of Academic Affairs, will personally congratulate each graduate during the diploma ceremony.
