La Pryor ISD Students to Earn High School Diplomas, College Credentials Through SWTX Partnership in May

Uvalde, TX, February 16, 2026 - Southwest Texas College proudly recognizes six La Pryor ISD students who are graduating with both a high school diploma and a college credential, marking a significant milestone in the college’s ongoing partnership with La Pryor ISD and its dual credit programs.

Four students — Jade Sofia Martinez, Celeste Perez, Lorena Castillo and Laila Perez — completed the Patient Care Technician Level 1 Certificate through Southwest Texas College while earning their high school diplomas. The one-year program prepares students for national certifications in phlebotomy, electrocardiogram, medical assisting and certified nurse assisting, positioning them to enter the healthcare workforce immediately after graduation.

PCT instructor Olivia Frausto received special recognition for her leadership and dedication in guiding these students toward academic and professional success. “This is what college and career readiness looks like at Southwest Texas College,” Frausto said.

Two additional La Pryor ISD students, Yulianna Ramos and Mia Gaitan, are graduating with both a high school diploma and an Associate of Arts in general studies from Southwest Texas College. Their outstanding achievement demonstrates exceptional dedication, discipline and vision, allowing them to enter the next chapter of their academic journey already two years ahead.

These accomplishments reflect the strength of the partnership between Southwest Texas College and La Pryor ISD, which continues to expand opportunities for students to achieve more before they graduate from high school.

This is the power of dual credit education — and a model of true college and career readiness at Southwest Texas College.
