FAQs
How much money can be awarded?
Funds vary per student's need.
What documentation is needed?
- Students must show documentation like itemized receipts, invoices, disconnection notices for essential utility bills, etc.
- The student’s active class schedule for the current semester.
- Proof that community resources were contacted if applicable. This may look like email confirmations from the community resource.
What if I am not approved or have long-term needs?
We encourage students who may not have met the criteria to connect with your VIDA Coordinator for ongoing support.
Through personalized VIDA coordination services, students have the opportunity to explore a range of resources, including financial literacy, scholarship opportunities, and support with FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) applications. Active participation in these services can enhance future emergency aid applications. We are here to help you succeed!
Do I need to repay the funds?
No. Unlike a loan, money awarded through this fund does not need to be repaid.
How often can I apply?
- Students can apply for emergency fund assistance whenever in financial need; however, funds will only be granted once per semester per student and twice throughout their time at SWTX.
- Funds are dependent upon funding availability.
